Annette Emily Spencer, age 73 of Murphy, NC passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Murphy Medical Center.

She was a native of White Swan, Washington on the Yakama Indian Reservation. Annette was the daughter of Ernest and Mabel E. Smartlowit Spencer. She was a seamstress at Levi Strauss & Company for many years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Kermit David Dockery and Bill Hartness.

She is survived by one son, Michael Dean Hefty and wife Terry of Bakersfield, CA; three daughters, Lori Grant and husband Mark of Murphy, NC, Kathy Danielson and husband Douglas of Murphy and Vickie Hefty-Smith and husband Mike of Orland, CA; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Murphy, NC.

Townson-Rose Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
