Katherine Robinson-Cox, 90, of Andrews passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019 in a Murphy care facility. She was a native of Atlanta, GA where she had lived most of her life. Katherine was the proud owner and manager of, The Tannery Restaurant in Buford, GA. She was a member of the Buford Chamber of Commerce and proud sponsor of a youth Tee-ball team. Katherine had won the Small Business Person of the year in Gwinnett County in 1987. She was a loving and hardworking mother to her five children and family.
She was the daughter of the late James Luther and Mary Arminda Brewer Burge. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Eddie Keys and James Robinson; a granddaughter, April Nicole Durham; and a brother, James “Buddy” Burge.
Surviving are three daughters, Jeanne Powell of Andrews, NC, D.J. Durham of LaFayette, GA, and Melissa Watson of Marble, NC; two sons, Charles L.K. Robinson and Michael David Robinson, both of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren, Cary James Robinson, and Melissa Meghan Watson; a great grandson, Emory- Kingston Porter Mayberry; and ex-husband and friend, Douglas Cox.
A private memorial service will be held in Andrews at a later date.
Inurnment will be in Gwinnett Memorial Park in Lawrenceville, GA.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made in loving memory of Katherine Robinson-Cox to the Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
