Murphy, NC – Law enforcement asks for public’s help in identifying male suspected of larceny at the local Tractor Supply store.

On August 16, 2019, Sergeant Caleb Stiles responded to a reported robbery from Tractor Supply at 11:17 a.m.
Cherokee County Dispatch relayed to Stiles that the manager on duty Charles Morris called in and stated that an unidentified male carried a power inverter and battery charger out of the store without paying.

Morris said that the male was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans and had face tattoos with what appeared to be a Y and Z on the side of his face. He also thought he saw the suspect leave the property in a goldish truck.

When Stiles arrived, he could not find the truck in the immediate area. However, Morris later informed Stiles that he misspoke and the suspect left in a gold SUV according to store surveillance footage. The footage is too grainy though to pull a tag or make or model of the vehicle.

The cashier who witnessed the suspect walk by called the manager to report the incident.

The white male stole around $300 worth of merchandise and wanted for misdemeanor larceny. Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office’s asking the public for tips on his whereabouts. If you think you know the individual, please call 828-837-2589.
