A Murphy Female was arrested on drug-related charges

Murphy, NC— Sheriff Derrick Palmer announced the June 2, 2021 arrest of 31-year-old Ashley Wickline Ray, of Murphy North Carolina for charges stemming from violations of the North Carolina Controlled Substances statutes.
On June 2, 2021, Detectives with Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle being driven by Ashley Wickline Ray. During the traffic stop the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, K-9 Bane, alerted, and a subsequent search of the vehicle located trafficking amounts of Schedule I controlled substances along with cocaine and methamphetamines.
Ray was arrested for: 2 counts of Trafficking Sch I Control substance Possession with intent to manufacture Sell and Deliver SCH I controlled substance, 4 counts of Possession with intent to manufacture Sell and Deliver SCH II Controlled substance, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Felony Possession SCH II controlled Substance, and Simple possession of SCHI II Controlled Substance. Ray is currently incarcerated in the Cherokee County Detention Center under a $250,000.00 secure bond. Ray is expected to be in Cherokee County District Court on June 10, 2021, at 9 am.
