Day 3 Game 1 Women : Murphy (NC) 62 Coosa (GA) 43

(Hiawassee, GA) – – The game was a little cold for Murphy and Coosa beginning the first game of the tournament’s final day.  Coosa outscored Murphy 11-to-20.  The Bulldogs made some slight adjustments and took off through the next three periods with a good defensive approach to close down Coosa and put the ball in the hoop.  The Bulldogs went on a 10-oh run to out pace the Eagle 18-to-5 in the second period.  Murphy Lailee Holloway led all scorers with 18 followed by Addie Johnson and Emma Laney’s 15 each.  Coosa’s leading scorer was MaKenna Manley with 10 points.  Murphy Coach Gary Thompson says he is pleased with the balanced, inside-outside defensive attack, and good shooting his team made through the game.  Thompson is hopeful this game and extra practices will fuel Murphy through a busy schedule this coming week with Andrews, Hiawasee Dam, Nantahala, and Gilmer (GA).
