Murphy’s Ty Laney has good defensive stops for the South
By Brandon Stephens
(Tampa, FL) – – The superior team in this game is the North. Kayden Anderson, Demir Ashiru, and Cortney Davis, who is 6’6 helped orchestrate a very smooth and efficient offense. The afternoon is filled with sweet passes and runs to the end zone for the North. The South struggled through the game with at least three interceptions and relying on field goal kicker Connor Gibbs who scored most of the South’s points. The final score – North 42 South 19. The importance of the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl is about additional exposure for the amazingly talented high school football players. When we met the, several players have committed or will make the official signature which will be on National Letter of Intent Day that happens on Wednesday, February 1st. Will Johnson, who did not get to play due to his knee injury, explained he had lots of fun and learned much more about football.
Ty Laney is hoping to make a decision on where he will go to college and potentially play football. There are a few real options for Ty, but it sounds like he is looking and evaluating all of his opportunities. The weekend in Tampa had some good results for Ty. While we didn’t capture all of his tackles and play on the field, he shined like the rest of the players.
For the last few years it has been great chronicling the football and sports play for Will and Ty. Coach Kenny Stills, coach for the South team, explained, “This might be the last time you wear a football uniform. Make the best of it.” We believe Ty and Will have a good opportunity to play again in a few months.
