Murphy hosts Robbinsville and Hiwasse Dam in final home meet

The Murphy Bulldogs track team played host to Robbinsville and Hiwassee Dam in their final home meet of the year. Both Bulldogs Boys and Girls teams came away with the W, while Robbinsville and HD finished in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Andrews girls, boys place third at track meet

The Andrews girls and boys track teams both placed third in a meet at Murphy on Wednesday, March 4, with the Lady Wildcats scoring 63 points and the Wildcats scoring 47.5 points.

Union Co. won the girls meet with 93 points, while Murphy won the boys meet with 151.5 points.

Andrews Lady Wildcats TrackFor the Lady Wildcats, Lindy Garrett placed first in the shot put with a throw of 31 feet, 2 inches and placed second in the discus with a throw of 69 feet, 11 inches.

In the 4X200 meter relay, the team of Abby Hedden, Brooke Phillips, Ravin Wright, and Juliana Aiken placed second with a time of 1 minutes, 58.4 seconds.

Kaylin Ellis took second place in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 54.3 seconds, while Sydney Postell was third with a time of 58.8 seconds for Andrews.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Kaylin Ellis placed third with a time of 21.9 seconds, while Wright placed third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14 seconds.

The team of Hedden, Phillips, Wright, and Ellis placed third in the 4X100 meter relay with a time of 55.9 seconds.

Phillips also took third in the 200 with a time of 29.7 seconds.

Aiken, Ellis, Postell, and Emily Mealer teamed up to take third placed in the 4X400 meter relay with a time of 5:18.2.

Postell also added a third-place finish in the high jump with a height of 4 feet, 4 inches.

For the Wildcats, the team of Tucker Holloway, Gage Gillespie, Kabe Ellis, and Angelo Scionti took first place in the 4X200 meter relay with a time of 1:35.7 and took first place in the 4X100 meter relay with a time of 46.4 seconds.

Gillespie also added a second-place finish in the 200 with a time of 24.8 seconds and a second-place finish in the 100 with a time of 12 seconds for Andrews.

In the shot put, Makhi Smith was second with a throw of 39 feet.

Lady Bulldogs track team takes second in meet

The Murphy Lady Bulldogs track team placed second Wednesday, March 5, at home, in the first meet of the season, with 82 points.

Murphy Lady Bulldogs TrackUnion Co. won the meet with 93 points, while Andrews was third (63 points), Hiwassee Dam was fourth (40 points), and Tri-County Early College was fifth with 19 points.

In the 100-meter dash, Grace Nelson took first place with a time of 13.6, while in the 4X200 meter relay, the team of Faith Ann Revis, Bianca White, Kia Guerrero, and Lauren Pendley placed first with a time of 1 minute, 57.3 seconds.

Revis, Guerrero, Olivia Payne, and Grace Nelson teamed up to take first in the 4X100 meter relay for the Lady Bulldogs with a time of 54.6 seconds.

In the 300-meter hurdles, Georjah Allen took the top spot with a time of 53.7 seconds.

The team of Allen, Revis, White, and Pendley placed first in the 4X400 meter relay with a time of 4:41.9.

In the discus, Candace Dockery placed first with a throw of 82 feet, 2 inches, while Riley Dockery was third at 64 feet, 5 inches.

In the 4X800 meter relay, the team of Allen, Dakota Hogeback, Madison Worley, and Gracey Henry placed second with a time of 11:50.2, while the team of Jennifer Hernandez, Grace Hill, Adalynn Hall, and Ashlyn Stroupe was third at 13:46.3.

Stroupe also placed third in the 1,600 with a time of 6:49.5

In the shot put, Jersey Schwalm was second with a throw of 29 feet, 9.5 inches, while Candace Dockery was third with a toss of 29 feet, 3 inches.

The Murphy Bulldogs track team took first place in the first meet of the season Wednesday, March 4, at home.

The Bulldogs scored 151.5 points to take the top spot against Union Co. (93 points), Andrews (47.5 points), and Tri-County Early College (5 points).

In the 4X800 meter relay, the team of Andrew Bryson, Caleb Jones, Hunter Harris, and Chase Pierce placed first with a time of 8 minutes, 50.9 seconds.

The team of Richard Ly, Caleb Rice, Clayton Laney, and Christian Tighe placed second in the event with a time of 9:57.6.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Juan Allen was first at 19.3 seconds, with Austin Woody in second at 19.6.

Chandler Wood took first place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.4 seconds, while Ryland Dickey was third at 12.1 seconds.

The team of Juan Allen, Justice Dorsey, Dalton Moore, and Davonte Murray placed third in the 4X200 meter relay.

In the 1,600-meter run, Andrew Bryson was first at 5:22.5, while Caleb Rice was second at 5:23.

In the 4X100-meter relay, the team of Dorsey, Murray, Wood, and Dickey placed second with a time of 46.8 seconds.

Moore placed third in the 400 with a time of 55.7 seconds, while Woody placed third in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 51.6 seconds.

The Bulldogs swept the top two spots in the 800, with Chase Pierce in first at 2:14.7 and Hunter Harris in second at 2:15.9.

Drew Hodge placed third in the 200 with a time of 25.2

In the 3,200-meter run, Ly placed first with a time of 11:38.6, while Jones was second at 11:39.9.

Hodge, Moore, Pierce, and Harris combined to take second place in the 4X400 meter relay with a time of 3:52.7.

In the discus, Dallas Rayburn took first with a throw of 127 feet, 2 inches, while Colby Stalcup was third with a throw of 93 feet, 2 inches.

Rashad Davis took first place in the shot put with a throw of 40 feet, 4 inches, while Kyle Willard was third at 34 feet, 5.5 inches.

Hunter Laney won the high jump with a height of 5-foot-6, while Dorsey was second at the same height on more attempts for the Bulldogs.
