Pamela Kinnersley Martin, age 58 of Hayesville, NC passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 at her residence.
She was born in Cherokee County, NC to the late Rev. Donald Kinnersley, Sr. and Jonnie Kinnersley. Pamela worked for Moog for 38 years. She loved her husband, daughters and grandchildren. Pamela enjoyed listening to gospel music. She was non-denomination; she was a born again Christian.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Marjorie Kinnersley.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Martin; two daughters, Monica Wayman and husband Stuart and Tonya Raper and husband Christopher; two brothers, Dale Kinnersley, Jr. and wife Marilyn and Jim Kinnersley and wife Jamie; four grandchildren, Ellison Wayman, George Raper, Jack Wayman and Marshall Raper; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at the Bell Scene Baptist Church in Hiawassee, GA at 11 am, Wednesday, October 17, 2018. Rev. Mitchell Martin and Rev. Ralph Barnard will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Tim Kinnersley will conduct graveside service and a eulogy will be given by Nancy Spivey. Pallbearers will be Kevin Kinnersley, Brian Kinnersley, Shane Spivey, Jacob Garner, Josh Swanson and Daniel Moss.

Richard Kenneth Drabek gently slipped away on September 15, 2018 at the age of 80.
Rich enjoyed the Yankees, dancing, computer games, card games, get togethers, and traveling. His love story with his wife was a lasting memory for him. His proudest times were with his family and his 21 years he served in the United States Navy, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. Additionally, he served 21 years in the US Post Office.
Rich is survived by Eileen, his loving wife of 36 years, one sister, five children: Raymond, Steven, Tina, Deena and Gregory, eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will have a celebration of life gathering for family and friends on Oct. 20, 2018 from 2:00PM – 4:00PM at Konehete Park, 699 Conahetta Street, Murphy, NC 28906 Pavilion #3 next to baseball field.

Nancy Ann Solesbee, age 73 of Nantahala went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday September 25, 2018.
She was the daughter of the late James and Anna Jean Cross. She was a wonderful homemaker, loving Mother and a member of Briartown Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Darwin and Samuel Solesbee and brother, Gary Cross.
She is survived by her son, Tim and Jennifer Solesbee; father of the children, Jr. Solesbee; grandchildren, Justin Solesbee and Amy Ortiz and husband Jon; brother Donald Cross and fiancé,Denise Totherow; sister-in-law, Janet Cross; nieces, Lindsay Cross and Maggie Brostic and husband Mark and a special aunt, Betty Shields.

William “Billy” Mark Burnette, age 88 of Southside, AL passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at his residence.
He was born in Union County, GA to the late Monroe and Dessie Collins Burnett. Billy worked as a federal poultry inspector. He was very creative and enjoyed woodworking. Billy was a musician.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Burnette; she passed away April 19, 2018. Billy and Frankie were married 63 years; two brothers, Durane Burnett and Monroe Burnett, Jr.; and one sister, Corrine Beaver.
He is survived by his daughter, Letricia McDaniel; two grandchildren, Charles “Mike” Roland McDaniel III and Jordan Elizabeth McDaniel.
Funeral Service will be held at 3 pm, Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Aud Brown will officiate. Special music will be provided by Vivian Brown. Burial will be in the Ivy Log Baptist Church Cemetery in Blairsville, GA. Pallbearers will be Charles McDaniel III, Robert Truett, Cody Truett, Jonah Truett, Ronald Harris and Brady Harris.

Bud Lawerence Brown: Obituary

Mr. Bud Lawerence Brown is more alive than he has ever been and with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born October 31, 1928 in Elf, North Carolina, Bud passed into glory on October 30 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Bud was preceded in death by parents, Ben and Goldie Brown; two sisters, Dorothy Lundvall and Barbara Bracken; and twin brother, Benjamin Brown. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Betty Moore Brown; his daughter, Deborah J. Brown; and two sons, Lawrence E. and Brenin K. Brown. He is also survived by brother, James Brown and wife, Frances, of Tennessee; sister-in-law, Lee Brown of Hayesville; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Raised as a farm boy in Clay and Cherokee Counties, Bud later joined and served twenty years in the U. S. Army in Europe and Asia, thirty-six years with Bernhardt Furniture travelling extensively around the world on their behalf. He was very active in his community, serving on numerous boards; in church, serving as Sunday School Teacher, youth leader, Missions Committee chair, chair of the Board of Deacons, Elder, Clerk of Session and Trustee of Lenoir Presbyterian Church. He also served forty years as a volunteer of the Department of Defense branch, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), retired as State Chair with a rank of 2-star General, being dubbed “father of ESGR” in North Carolina. The “Bud Brown Award for Excellence” is given each year to a deserving member of ESGR. He and Betty served as Hospice volunteers for 30 years.
Bud carried a suitcase of Bibles throughout Asia for many years and testified to God’s love for all people through Jesus Christ. He also enjoyed home remodeling with his daughter, farming with his children, painting and drawing, woodworking, leather tooling, furniture making, and handcrafting with his wife.
Funeral and visitation will be held at Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, North Carolina at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018. A memorial service will be held at Lenoir Presbyterian Church in Lenoir, North Carolina at 3:00 p.m. on November 11, 2018. Memorials may be given to Lenoir Presbyterian Church, 1002 Kirkwood Ave. NW, Lenoir, NC 28645, Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Ave., Lenoir, NC 28645, or Yokefellow Christian Ministries, POB 2422, Lenoir, NC 28645.
The family deeply appreciates the staff of Caldwell Memorial Hospital, Caldwell Hospice and faithful caregivers Christy Pearson, Tammy Parsons, Kaitlyn Miller, Morgan Preik, as well as Sarah Eckard of Caregivers By Design.
The family expresses special thanks to Lenoir Presbyterian Church for their support during Bud’s illness, Harris Chapel Baptist Church for their prayers and many visits, Hyatt’s Creek Baptist Church for prayers and care. Mary Lou Stiles, age 95 of Murphy, NC passed away Saturday October 20, 2018 at Murphy Rehab & Nursing.
She was the daughter of Robert Taylor Kelly and Rosetta Leatherwood. She was a homemaker and although she did not have any children of her own, she helped raise dozens of children in the Bear Paw Community.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Stiles and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her brother, William T. Kelly and wife Lorine and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday October 23, 2018 at Bear Paw Baptist Church. Rev. Steve Ware and Rev. Tommy Hayes and Rev. Eddie Hardin will officiate. Burial will follow in Bear Paw Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1-2pm, Tuesday October 23, 2018 at Bear Paw Baptist Church prior to the service.

Dan Johnson Jr., 72, of Hayesville passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 in a Murphy care facility. He was a native of Marion, South Carolina and lived in Washington D.C. and Asheville, North Carolina before moving to Hayesville a year ago. Dan was a retired employee of Mack Johnson Construction Company in Washington D.C. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He was the son of the late Dan and Queenie Johnson.
Surviving are two daughters, Vicky of Washington D.C. and Searra of Fayetteville, North Carolina; two sons, Lorenzo of Delray Beach, Florida and James of Hayesville; five sisters, Lillian Streets of Lancaster, North Carolina, Janie Mae Freeman, Trisha Johnson, and Wanda Nichols, all of Marion, South Carolina, and Jackie Johnson of Washington D.C.; two brothers, Robert Johnson of Brooklyn, New York and Mack Johnson of Washington D.C.; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jean Ruth Jarrell Parrish: Obituary

She was born October 13, 1928 in Temple, Texas to A.J. and Ruth Cox Jarrell. She grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana and Rome, Georgia. After graduating from Shorter College in Rome, she moved to Atlanta, where she worked as a medical technician at Fort McPherson. Jean studied voice for many years and sang in Atlanta’s Theater Under the Stars and Atlanta Opera Arts, where she met her husband, Jack Parrish. They were married in 1956. She was a devoted wife and mother, a gifted homemaker, a strong and gracious Southern lady in the very best sense the words. She was fun-loving and an excellent hostess. Her talents included singing, all kinds of sewing and needlework, gardening, painting, and cooking. Jean always looked for opportunities to serve. She was especially mindful of those less fortunate, and she was a lifelong supporter of ministries which provide for children. She led both of her daughters’ Girl Scout troops for many years and started a troop in an underserved neighborhood near their home. She was active in the Shorter College Alumni Association. She earned appreciation awards from both of those organizations for her commitment, leadership, and service. In 1994, she and Jack moved from Stone Mountain to Hayesville, NC where they shared their new home as a bed and breakfast for several years. She enjoyed painting and tending their flower gardens. She was always active in a local church, most recently Hayesville UMC. Her family is blessed by her legacy of graciousness, strength, good manners, sweet tea, chocolate chip cookies, and trust in the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, ten months ago; she is survived by their two daughters, Patty Parrish Chaney (Bill), and Paula Parrish Bosarge (David), grandchildren Daniel (Hayley), Michael (Anna), and Catherine Chaney; and great-grandson, Logan Gray Chaney.
Visitation will be from 2-3pm on Monday, October 22, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Chapel of Hayesville. A funeral service will be held at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 3pm. Rev. Kirk Hatherly will officiate.

Virginia Fields Walsh: Obituary

Virginia, better known as “Ginny” was loved by all who knew her and brought much joy into everyone’s life. Her smile and humor are best described by the verse “a merry heart doeth good like a medicine” (Proverbs 17:22). Ginny retired from the public-school system serving the special needs children of Royal Oaks, MI in 1989. She served on the Board of Elections for many years. She was an active member and faithful servant at New Life Church in Hayesville, NC. The love of her life was serving God’s people with food, fellowship, and friendship.
She was reunited in heaven with: her husband, Lorne Walsh; her son, David J. Walsh; her sister, Dorothy DeLong, her brother, Edmund Fields; her sister, Patsy Satterfield, and many more precious loved ones.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Walsh and Daniel Walsh; her grandchildren, with whom she shared many a treasured moment: Matt (Maleita), Amy (Dan), Mark, and Adam; Jason (Jess), John (Jenn), Sara (Ted), R.J. (Jenna), and Katie (Edward); and Nikki (Tim), Amanda (Rick), and Jeremiah. Ginny counted it a blessing to witness the birth and lives of 21 great-grandchildren. She lived her life in a way that culminated with a testimony “Her children arise and call her blessed.” (Proverbs 31:28a)
Visitation will be held from 6:00p to 8:00p at New Life Church in Hayesville, NC. The funeral service will be on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11:00a at New Life Church, 34 Sunrise Place, Hayesville, NC 28904, officiated by Pastor Greg Carroll.

Lucille Drake McClintock passed away Monday, September 24 at the age of 98 in a Nursing Home in West Palm Beach, FL.
She was the daughter of the late Maude and Carl Drake of Nantahala, NC and the wife of Clarence “Mac” McClintock who passed away in 1997.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Dorothy) Silver of Windham, OH and Billy (Janet) Silver of Murphy, NC; one daughter, Betty (Brian) Foster of West Palm Beach, FL; two step-daughters, Kimberly McClintock of Fort Myers, FL and Terry (Steve) Fillow of Andrews, NC. She was a proud grandmother of over 15 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She never met a stranger and her home was always open to family and friends. She was deeply loved and will be missed by many.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews, NC. David Silver will conduct the service. An inurnment will be held at the Aquone Cemetery in Nantahala, NC at a later date.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest H. Ripley and her son, Ernest Ripley Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Jane Ripley Luens of Marietta, GA and Marion Sneed of Murphy, NC.

Mrs. Georgia Maryann Bull, age 65 of Andrews, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Murphy Medical Center. Mrs. Bull was born January 20, 1953, in Westfield, NY to the late Clarence Charles and Burdina Culver Alcorn. Coming for Cape Coral, FL she had made Andrews her home for the past 17 years. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Andrews and was employed as a teacher in the Cherokee County School System. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jeannette.
Survivors include: husband of forty seven years, Dale E Bull, daughter, Lisa (Scott) Edson, son, Scot Bull, son, Michael (Wendy) Bull, daughter, Sara Maddie Mae Bull, brother, Charles “Chuck” (Mina) Alcorn, sister, Marshan (Richard) Rice, sister, Sheila (David) Stiles, brother, Harvey (Valerie) Lanphere, grandchildren, Mathew, Joshua, Hannah, Nathan, John, Shelby, Kyle, Aiden and Brooklynn, nephews and nieces also survive.
