She was born in Blairsville, GA to the late Francis Marion and Winnie Clayton Early. Marie was a mill worker for several textile industries. She enjoyed word search puzzles. Marie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Francis Early and several half-sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Orville Crisp; one son, Shane Crisp and fiance Amy Davis; several half-sisters and three grandchildren, Nicole Crisp, Christopher Crisp and Autumn Crisp.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Tony Ware and Rev. Aud Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the Little Brasstown Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 pm to 2 pm, Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
The family is accepting flowers and also accepting donations to help with the funeral expenses.

PAIR ARRESTED FOR BREAKING AND ENTERINGS
Murphy, NC— Sheriff Derrick Palmer announced the December 10th, 2018 arrest of Eric Edward Hill, a 24 year old Marble North Carolina man and Kayla Marie Coffey, a 30 year old Blairsville Georgia woman on charges in connection with several breaking and entering investigations in Cherokee County North Carolina.

From December 05th, 2018 to December 10th, 2018 the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office received numerous complaints of breaking and entering to buildings primarily in the Marble community of Cherokee County. Investigators and Deputies work jointly and were able to identify Hill and Coffey as suspects in the investigations. Additionally, several items that had been reported missing were recovered and returned to the owners.
Eric Edward Hill was arrested on December 10th, 2018 on the following charges: BREAKING AND OR ENTERING 2 COUNTS, LARCENY AFTER BREAK/ENTER, BREAK OR ENTER A MOTOR VEHICLE 2 COUNTS, POSSESSION OF STOLEN GOODS 5 COUNTS. Hill is currently being held in the Cherokee County Detention Center on a $18,000.00 secure bond and is expected to be in Cherokee County District Court on January 24th, 2018 at 9 AM.
Kayla Marie Coffey
Kayla Marie Coffey was arrested on December 10th, 2018 on the following charges: AID & ABET LARCENY (F), BREAK OR ENTER A MOTOR VEHICLE 2 COUNTS, POSSESSION OF STOLEN GOODS 2 COUNTS. Coffey is currently being held on a $9,000.00 secure bond and is expected to be in Cherokee County District Court on January 24th, 2018 at 9 AM.
Sheriff Derrick Palmer stated “I want to commend the Deputies and Investigators involved in this case. This is a good example of how working together as a team helped solve these crimes quickly.”

Effie “Cricket” Marie Stiles Clayton, age 80 of Murphy, NC passed away January 13, 2019 in Murphy Rehab and Nursing. She was a native of Cherokee County, NC and the daughter of the late Rev. Noah and Tempa Stiles.
In addition to her parents, Harold Clayton; son, Bobby Clayton and daughter, Charlene Henderson.
She is survived by four grandchildren, Danny and Barry Clayton, Dwayne and Jessica Henderson and their families; one daughter-in-law, Sandy Ashe; a very special nephew, Jason Mann; brother, Walter Stiles; four sisters, Stella Mann, Jeanette Ray, Geraldine Wray and Rosa Mae Green and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Burial will be in Snow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Marie Ann Spivey, 57, of Hayesville, died Saturday, October 20, 2018 at her residence. She was a native and lifetime resident of Clay County. Marie worked for Mohawk Industry and Clayco Corp. She also worked as a certified nursing assistant for Clay County Care Center. She was a member of Bible Missionary Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late James and Edna Cothern Patterson. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Patterson; and two brothers, Allen and Butch Patterson.
Surviving are her husband of 33 years, Roger G. Spivey; four sisters, Lena Worley, Geneva Chastain, and Jerita Burch, all of Hayesville, and Marlene Bell of Warne; three brothers, Larry and Junior Patterson, both of Lavonia, Georgia, and Marshall Patterson of Hayesville; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2018 in Bethel Cemetery with the Rev. Doyce Waters officiating.
