Murphy man arrested for trafficking meth

Murphy, NC— Sheriff Derrick Palmer announced the July 10, 2021 arrest of 44-year-old Adrian Nicklas Ball for charges stemming for violations of the North Carolina Controlled Substances statutes.

In February 2021, Investigators of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office received information that Ball was involved in the illegal distribution of drugs in Cherokee County. Pursuant to that information, an investigation was conducted and a search warrant was executed at the Hedden Road, Murphy North Carolina address of Ball.
During the search several items including a trafficking amount of methamphetamine, U.S. currency, illegal items to ingest controlled substances.

Ball was arrested at his Hedden Road residence and taken to the Cherokee County Detention Center where he was served with warrants for TRAFFICKING IN METHAMPHETAMINE, POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE, and MAINTAINING A DWELLING.

Ball was given a $100,000.00 secure bond which he made the next day. Ball has a July 15, 2021, Cherokee County District Court date.

Sheriff Derrick Palmer stated “We appreciate the public’s assistance in providing information to make this search, seizure, and arrest. Again teamwork helps in our battle with drugs in Cherokee County North Carolina.”

Murphy man charged with arson

Murphy, NC— Sheriff Derrick Palmer announced the June 9, 2021 arrest of 42-year-old Jeremy Lee Golden, of Murphy, North Carolina for charges stemming from a February 2021 arson investigation.

On February 14, 2021, a structure fire was reported on Marrestop Road, in Cherokee County North Carolina. The origin of the fire appeared suspicious in nature and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation. During that investigation, Jeremy Golden was identified as a suspect in the burning of the residence.

Golden was charged with Second Degree Arson and is currently on a $10,000.00 secure bond. Golden is currently incarcerated in the Cherokee County Detention Center awaiting a July 01, 2021, at 9 am Cherokee County District Court date.

Sheriff Derrick Palmer stated “Good work in this case and know that we are continuing to investigate other suspicious fires in Cherokee County.

Four arrested in drug raid

Murphy, NC— Sheriff Derrick Palmer announced the June 11, 2021 arrest of 33-year-old Jonathan Dwayne Crowder, 33-year-old Sheena Renee Dockery, 30-year-old Lindsey Ann Lemon of Murphy, North Carolina, and Kristi Michelle Crowder of Blue Ridge, Georgia for charges stemming from violations of the North Carolina Controlled Substances statutes.
On May 11, 2021, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office issued a search warrant in Murphy. During the search of the residence trafficking amounts of methamphetamine and heroin were seized along with a stolen motor vehicle.
Jonathan Dwayne Crowder was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, Maintaining a Dwelling for use, storage, sale of controlled substances, and Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle. Crowder was released on a $20,000.00 secure bond and has a July 01, 2021, Cherokee County District Court date.
Sheena Renee Dockery was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and released on a $2,000.00 secure bond and has a July 01, 2021, Cherokee County District Court date.
Kristi Michelle Crowder was charged with Possession of Heroin and released on a $5,000.00 secure bond and has a July 01, 2021, Cherokee County District Court date.
Lindsey Ann Lemon was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Trafficking in Heroin. She is currently incarcerated in the Cherokee County Detention Center under a $50,000.00 secure bond and has a July 01, 2021 Cherokee County District Court date.

Andrews man arrested in connection to catalytic converter theft

Murphy, NC— Sheriff Derrick Palmer announced the May 19, 2021 arrest of 30-year-old, Caine Tyler Burnette, of Andrews, North Carolina for charges stemming from an investigation into the theft of catalytic converters in Murphy, North Carolina.
On May 7, 2021, The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office received reports of larceny at a business. Caine Tyler Burnette was later identified as a suspect in the theft of the catalytic converters from multiple vehicles located at that business.
On May 19, Burnette was observed in the vehicle used at the time of the theft. A traffic stop was initiated and Burnette was taken into custody.
Caine Tyler Burnette was arrested for: Felony injury to property obtaining non-Ferris metal, Felony Larceny, Felony Larceny of motor vehicle parts, and First-degree trespass. Burnette is currently incarcerated in the Cherokee County Detention Center under a $250.00 secure bond for charges stemming from Graham County. He was given a $10,000.00 unsecure bond for the charges stemming from this arrest. He is expected in Cherokee County District Court on May 27, 2021 at 9 am.
Sheriff Derrick Palmer stated “We continue to work these cases and we appreciate the help of the community and ask for their continued cooperation. As always we continue to be the Cherokee County Team.”
